First, let's take a look at the YJY cable. YJY is also called cross-linked polyethylene insulated polyethylene sheathed power cable. The power cable made of polyethylene material has excellent thermomechanical properties, superior flame retardant properties, and better current carrying capacity than ordinary YJV power cable. At the same time, the electrical performance and heat resistance of the cable have also been improved. YJ-cross-linked polyethylene Y-polyethylene, can be laid indoors, in pipelines or loose soil, but the premise is that it cannot withstand tension and pressure; it can be used for distribution networks or industrial devices with voltage levels of 1-1000kV and above, such as power stations, urban lighting lines, high-voltage iron tower transmission, basement transmission and other places. Features YJY cable has a simple structure, moderate hardness and softness, and is easy to transport, but it is not pressure-resistant, so pay attention when storing or transporting it. Its advantage is that according to the requirements of different users, YJY power cable can produce flame retardant (ZB), fire resistant (NH), low smoke and low halogen (WDZ) and other cables for use in high-demand occasions. This type of cable has high safety and practicality and strong environmental protection performance.
Next, let's take a look at the YJV power cable, which is also called cross-linked polyethylene insulated PVC sheathed power cable. YJ stands for cross-linked polyethylene insulation, and V stands for PVC sheath. YJV also stands for copper core cable, while YJLV stands for aluminum core cable.
So there is only one letter difference between YJY cable and YJV cable, so what is the difference between them? First of all, YJY has better water resistance and low temperature resistance than YJV, while YJV has better flame retardancy than YJY. The maximum rated operating temperature of the conductor of YJY cross-linked polyethylene insulated power cable is 90℃, which is higher than that of polyethylene insulated cable, so the current carrying capacity of the cable will be further improved. YJV cable has excellent thermomechanical properties, excellent electrical properties and chemical corrosion resistance, as well as simple structure, light weight, and laying without drop restrictions. It is a novel cable currently widely used in urban power grids, mines and factories. Secondly, the sheath of YJV is PVC, which is a halogen-containing cable; the sheath of YJY is polyethylene, which is a halogen-free cable.
Finally, the price of YJY cable is higher, because YJY is a copper core cross-linked polyethylene insulated polyethylene sheathed power cable, while YJV is a copper core cross-linked polyethylene insulated polyvinyl chloride sheathed power cable. We know that the price of cross-linked polyethylene is higher than that of polyvinyl chloride, so the production cost of YJY is high, which leads to its price will also be high.
