General building wire has specification performance, China National Standard Approved (GB) Cable provides 5 kinds of common specification performance:

It is recommended to use 1.5 mm square and above for house lighting wires; Air conditioning, microwave oven and other large power appliances should use 2.5 mm square and above wire. the fixed wire is best to use BV(Cu/PVC) single core wire installed in the pipe, pay attention not to scratch wiring, not destroy the wire during installation; Do not join wires; Do not touch the wire when it is connected to the electrical box.
What’s the differences between National Standard Cable and Non-standard Cable:
1.Check carefully see if it has quality certificate and whether the qualification certificate is standard; See if there is a factory name, factory address, inspection seal and production date; See whether the wire is printed with trademark, specification, voltage...etc. Also look at the cross section of wire copper core, copper color is bright color, otherwise it is inferior.
2.Try. Bend the small piece of one end of the wire repeatedly, see if it is soft, good strength, see if plastic or rubber is elastic and wire insulation is without cracks.
3.Check the copper. Qualified copper core should be purplish red, shiny, soft feel. And inferior copper core is purplish black, yellowish or partial white, impurities, poor mechanical strength, poor toughness, a little force will be broken, and wire interior often broken. Further checking, you need to peel off one end of the wire 2cm, and then rub it on the copper core with a piece of white paper. If there is black material on the white paper, it indicates that there are some impurities in the copper core. In addition, the insulation of shoddy wires seems to be very thick, but in fact most of them are made of recycled plastic. Over time, the insulation will age and leak electricity.
1.According to the weight. The weight of good quality wire is generally following prescribed weight. For example, the commonly used PVC insulated single core copper wire with a cross-sectional area of 1.5mm2 weighs 1.8 ~ 1.9kg per 100m. 2.5mm2 weights 3 ~ 3.1kg per 100m; 4.0mm2 weights 4.4-4.6kg / 100m...etc. Poor quality wires are not heavy enough, either it is not long enough or it didn’t use enough copper .
